Who runs GasStack
GasStack is run by Peter McGinley, a sole trader trading as GasStack. Peter McGinley is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. For any privacy question or request, email hello@gasstack.co.uk.
What we collect
- Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up. Used only to send the weekly GasStack email. We use double opt-in: you get one email asking you to confirm before you are added. You can unsubscribe through the link in every email, or by emailing hello@gasstack.co.uk.
- Submit / correction form: what you type, and your email if you give it, so we can reply.
- Searches with no results: the words typed into the site search when nothing matched, with no name, email or IP address attached. We use them to decide which tools to add.
- Analytics: we plan to use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics (no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking).
Lawful basis
Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Forms and search logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the directory accurate.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site and send the email. We never sell your data or share it with vendors listed on the site.
- Hosting: Cloudflare.
- Newsletter: Kit (ConvertKit LLC, USA) handles newsletter emails as our processor. When you sign up, the form sends your email address straight to Kit, which stores subscriber email addresses to send the newsletter on our behalf. See Kit's privacy policy.
International transfers
Kit is based in the United States, so newsletter subscriber email addresses are transferred to and stored in the US. Kit says it protects these transfers using the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or, where needed, standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, as set out in its Data Processing Addendum.
How long we keep it
Newsletter data until you unsubscribe (through the link in any email, or by emailing hello@gasstack.co.uk). Form messages for up to 12 months. Search logs are kept in summary form only.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by emailing hello@gasstack.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Links to vendors
Links to vendor websites take you to sites with their own privacy policies. If a link is an affiliate link, it will be labelled.
